Born on July 26, Francia Raisa was born and raised in Southern California by her mother Virginia Almendarez and her father Maximo Renan Almendarez Coello. Her father is the number one disc jockey in Los Angeles on 97.9 FM, La Raza and is also known to many as the Latin radio personality “El Cucuy.”  

As a junior in high school, Raisa started to model for print ads, star in commercials, and even dabbled in the world of sitcoms. After shooting “Bring it On: All or Nothing” starring opposite NBC’s “Heroes’” Hayden Panettiere, Raisa starred in the Nickelodeon film “Shredderman Rules.”  She has recently starred in “Underground,” directed and written by Tinieblas González and had the lead female role in MGM’s ABC Family TV movie, “The Cutting Edge 3: Chasing the Dream. “  This summer she shot “Cutting Edge: Fire & Ice” which will air on ABC FAMILY in March 2010.
