Born and raised in Encino, California to a wholesale diamond dealer and a designer, Daren Kagasoff, who is of Russian descent, is the middle of three children. While attending San Francisco State University, he decided that what he really wanted to do was to follow his dream of being an actor. Kagasoff defied all odds when he beat out hundreds of candidates in one of his first auditions, where he was hand picked by Brenda Hampton for his breakout role as Ricky.
